The Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, a show split across two harbours

The Cannes Yachting Festival is Europe's leading in-water boat show, and the only event in this calendar that is not a closed trade fair: people come as visitors, often as a couple or a family, sometimes to buy. Six days in September, from the 8th to the 13th in 2026.

Its geography sets it apart from all the others. It is not held at the Palais des Festivals but across two harbours: the Vieux Port, at the foot of the Croisette, and Port Canto at its eastern end. Two kilometres and a shuttle separate them. The district you stay in therefore determines not a distance but which of the two exhibitions you can reach on foot.

September works in your favour: the families have gone, August rates have come back down, and the town has found a workable rhythm without having closed its season.

Frequently asked questions

Should we stay near the Vieux Port or Port Canto?

It depends on what you have come to see. The Vieux Port hosts motor yachts and most of the shipyards; Port Canto, sailing and the larger units. Properties in the Banane district and the town centre are five to seven minutes from the Vieux Port; those at Pointe Croisette are a few minutes from Port Canto. The walking times shown on this page are to the Palais des Festivals, a step away from the Vieux Port.

Can we come as a family during the show?

It is in fact one of the few Cannes events where this is common, as the show is open to the public. The selection above includes apartments for four to eight and one villa for fourteen. September is still good for the beach, which lets you split the days between the pontoons and everything else.

Is parking a problem during the show?

The seafront is heavily constrained for the six days, between the two sites and the shuttle linking them. Not every property in this selection has private parking: ask us about the specific one you have in mind, as we do not promise it across the board. Staying within walking distance remains the simplest way of avoiding the question altogether.

How long should we stay?

The show runs six days, but few visitors do all of them: two or three are enough to cover both harbours without rushing. As September is still a holiday period, many extend to the week and keep the remaining days for the coast. The exact length is agreed case by case, as terms vary from owner to owner.

Can we reach the show from a boat?

Many visitors arrive by sea, but berths are taken long in advance during the show and we do not book them. What we can arrange are transfers between your accommodation and the pontoons, and a driver for the length of the stay.

Is September still expensive in Cannes?

Less than July and August, more than October. The show lifts demand across its six days without bringing summer rates back, which makes it one of the most balanced weeks in the Cannes calendar — good weather, a workable town, and rates that have come down.

Do you take last-minute enquiries?

Yes, and they succeed more often than people assume: cancellations happen, and not every owner blocks show week a year ahead. Write to us with your actual dates and we reply within 24 hours with what is genuinely free rather than with a catalogue.

What can you arrange around the show?

Transfers from Nice, a driver, a private chef, restaurant and beach bookings, a day out at sea. Allow fourteen days. Full details are on our concierge page.
